« Bringing in the New Year | Main | From the Same Spot »

Barn BRRRRR

After a stretch of really cold days the temperature here finally rose to an average high, that"s around 20 degree F.  Seizing the opportunity to get out into this tropical push of air, I headed out to record the morning sun.  Perhaps it was the breeze, or maybe the fact that I haven't painted for a bit outside lately, but I was stung by the coldness I experienced.  I found myself hurrying the process to finish only to see another scene to paint as I was breaking down.

I know I've written about this situation before.  You want to move on to the next operation only to find your focus reverted to a scene from the same spot, but facing a different direction.  It took me till I had completely packed my bags that I finally succumbed to the visual impulse pulling me from the opposite direction.

Today I give you the view looking north, toward this striking red barn in the morning sun.  Check back tomorrow's for the southern view.
